Call for Tutorials

IJTCS-FAW brings together researchers across theoretical computer science and its rapidly developing interdisciplinary frontiers. Tutorials should provide an accessible and structured introduction to an important area, survey recent advances, connect research communities, or highlight an emerging direction of broad interest. Proposals that are especially valuable to students and early-career researchers are encouraged.

Topics and Scope

Proposed tutorials should relate to at least one of the four IJTCS-FAW 2026 tracks:

• Frontiers of Algorithmic Wisdom;
• Blockchain Theory and Technology;
• Computational Economics and Algorithmic Game Theory; and
• Foundations of Artificial Intelligence.

Cross-track tutorials and proposals on emerging topics relevant to the broader theoretical computer science community are also welcome.

Format

• Tutorials will be held in person at Renmin University of China.
• The tutorial day is Nov 7, 2026.
• The standard duration is two hours, including time for questions and interaction.
• At least one presenter of each accepted tutorial must attend the conference and deliver the tutorial in person.

Who Should Submit

Proposals are welcome from researchers and practitioners in academia, research institutes, and industry. A tutorial may be organized and presented by one or more individuals. Cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary teams are encouraged when they strengthen the coherence or breadth of the tutorial.

Proposal Guidelines

Proposals should be written in English, submitted as a single PDF, and be 2–3 pages in length. Each proposal should include:

• the title and a brief abstract of the tutorial;
• keywords and the relevant IJTCS-FAW 2026 track or tracks;
• the names, affiliations, email addresses, and short biographies of all organizers and presenters;
• the proposed format and duration;
• a clear content outline with approximate timings;
• the motivation, timeliness, learning objectives, and expected value to the IJTCS-FAW community;
• the intended audience and any recommended prerequisite knowledge;
• any planned interactive elements, demonstrations, exercises, panels, or short contributed talks;
• information about similar tutorials previously presented elsewhere, if any, and how the proposed tutorial differs or has been updated; and
• any special room, equipment, software, accessibility, or logistical requirements.
